PGA Professional Rhodri Lloyd Jones
Rhodri joined us in 2005 to bring our Golf Academy a first class teaching service. He left his Head Professional/Assistant Golf Club Manager Job at Chirk Golf Club to peruse his love of teaching the game on a full time basis. He qualified from the Devere Belfry Ping House Teaching Academy with the equivalent of a 2.1 Degree with 1sts in All Teaching Modules. He is available for lessons 7 days a week from 10.30am – 8.00pm.
Rhodri has a first class Video Analysis Software and has recently added the revolutionary new teaching Aid the Explanar to our Golf Range

What is your first golfing memory?
My Dad giving me a cut down Dunlop blue flash 5 iron and hitting balls at his golf club on the practice ground. I loved it straight away!
When did you win your first competition?
When I was 11 years old I won a senior monthly medal and shot a 62 nett
What is your golfing Philosophy?
I always make sure that the pupil understands why he or she must change their swing, I think that’s vital! Understanding what’s wrong in their golf swing is the first step to improving it. Setup is vital too If you fail to prepare for your golf shot then you should prepare to fail.
Favorite Golfing Quote?
There’s a couple John Daly said “she said she didn’t like golfers, and I don’t like blondes but I do like fat boys so I knew I had a chance” commenting on what his wife said to him when they first met, but probably my favorite quote is from Ben Hogan (the Hawk

What is your favorite club?
I like them all
What are your strengths?
My ball striking can be impressive, I have a lot of power when I want it but most of the time swing at 75%
What’s the longest drive you have ever hit then?
I hit a 340 meter drive in Spain last year on the son Vida golf course I nutted that thing!
What is the best course you have played?
In this country or abroad?
Both
Well in this country I think Royal Lytham and Hoylake are superb also Royal Hunstanton (quickest greens I have ever played on) but probably my favorite is Royal Brancaster in Norfolk.
Abroad I think it must be Santo de Serra in Madeira absolutely beautiful course up in the hills with an old wooden club house and 3 loops of 9 which are absolutely beautiful with superb views.
